after much deliberation (i know, yet again), i've made up my mind to not run for crew. i've been giving it some serious thought this week; the main motivating reason for me to run initially was to further my interest in the corpcomms arena which i later figured could be done in other ways. considering that there're so many people running who are equally capable in terms of administrative skills and more so in their team specialization expertise, on top of the fact that they're all very passionate about the outdoors, i think many of them out there deserve more so to be in the crew than me. i joined smux to do something out of the ordinary and challenge myself in the outdoors in areas i've always wanted to try but never had the opportunity or courage to do so and to say the truth, i'm especially proud of my stong and ophir conquers which may not be anything significant to other people but are actually memorable and fulfilling experiences to me :) i guess not being in the crew gives me more flexibility in doing what i really enjoy at my own standards without having to meet certain expectations of people. also, crew, being a one-year committment, will indirectly force me to make certain trade-offs - to name a few, my closer social circle of friends outside of smux and attempts at trying new stuff - which i'm not sure are trade-offs i'll be totally convinced of. therefore, in view of all i've said, i shall not run.
