first lesson of CAT
Tuesday, August 28 @ 11:08 AM

i'm at CAT class now. it feels damn weird to be alone in a class with no one i know, attending the class for the first time in week 2. it doesn't help that the subject is something i'm totally clueless about.
speaking from the point of an excel-idiot, i must say that i was quite fascinated by the stuff one could do on excel like writing formulae for multiplication/addition etc. but that is not to say that i will enjoy the class.
ohwells. i dont have much of a choice.
there's an assignment due next week. horrors!

the secret
Friday, August 24 @ 12:36 AM

i'm still trying to get myself to come to terms with reality that school has started all over again, after 4 months of supposedlylongyetnotthatlong break which i practically worked and involved myself in many other stuff i barely rested enough. while it's only the first week of school, everything else is still the same. we're living in the competitive world where everyone gets all kiasu abt project work, participation and bidding. i lost my MS bid to two of my FRESHIES! it sucks that i havent settled my modules till now and i risk taking 3.5 mods this sem ugh!

amidst all the school/nitebike/bidding frenzy, i managed to take a break and catch the secret which turned out to be a pretty good movie i would say. it's one of the few rare movies which actually did not disappoint me after having my expectations built up from hearing all the good reviews. kudos to jaychou for his acting was actually quite commendable! anyway after the movie, we headed to this place, named saycheezecake at great world city, which supposedly sells great cheesecakes. i ordered the blueberry cheesecake which turned out to be quite a disappointment; there was only a slight tinge of cheese flavour even though it was a CHEESEcake and the blueberry somehow dint go well with the cake.

the photo is a misrepresentation of the actual taste of the cheesecake!

although the cakes may not be that good, the main courses look like they're worth giving a try tho!

smux camp and 6h gathering
@ 1:01 AM

sorry for the lackof posts for a very long period of time. long photo post ahead!

SPHCF JUN/JUL OUTING - BE YOURSELF!
the much-anticipated outing with the girls following carol's return! congrats to fionne for the good (predictable) news lol! i hope the quadruple date thingy works out some day; it wld be damn fun! i'll be waiting for treats from the respective people!

indiv shots!

carol, huimin and wei :)

group shot!

SMUX CAMP
i had a great time at smux camp, trying out the various activities i missed out on during last year's camp! am utterly proud of myself for leading the group on the night cycling route; apologies for the shock i've caused for the lack of regard for (or rather naive ignorance of) traffic regulations though lol! kudos to the bunch of fun-loving, self-entertaining and "initiative" freshies who easily self-ran the camp; am really proud of them!

day 1: before trekking at the railway station.

playing superheroes and the milk game while waiting for our turn to set off!

during the trek itself.

all dirty after the trek and trying to take a solemn family photo which turned out more like a gang shot lol.

ooh i love this collage! each photo represents a number! barneys rock!

at pandan reservoir. it's a really nice place to take a stroll and relax! lucky jurongers!

doing the cheerleader formation at chinese garden.

ice skating at jec.

day 2: underwater hockey and diving tryouts.

shots.

outdoor cooking for dinner.

day 3: kayaking (photos to be up) not to forget the SMU jump!

RANDOM
donut factory! i found a new favourite - mocha roasted almond (the one in the middle) - along with double choc!

6H CLASS GATHERING
dinner gathering with my p6 class; it's been almost 8 years since most of us last saw each other! it was really good catching up with old friends and teachers! everyone's changed in one way or another (either magnified or skewed vertically) but there is still that little tinge of resemblance from the primary school days (i shd dig out and scan in my primary school photo one day!) it was fun reminiscing abt the interesting characters in the class and the stupid stuff we used to do! i also realized that it's only in primary school where you have friends staying in the same area as you. i was quite surprised to find that even though most of us are still living in the same area, we havent bumped into one another over the years. small yet big world eh?

bbq and steamboat buffet at chongpang, marina south. the teachers still look the same!

dessert and more talk at menotti!

the 10 of us who made it for the gathering!

welcome back, school :(

be free to fly

be free to fly.
care not about what others say; do whatever you like.
but,

how often is it that the decisions you make are influenced by the people surrounding you?

bondue camp 2007
Tuesday, August 7 @ 1:51 AM

i had a great time at the bondue camp and i really hope the freshies felt the same way too! i have to say that the whole camp was quite an experience for me. being a faci (it was the first time for me btw), you have to take on a pro-active role (even though you may not be so normally) because you're the one bringing 12 strangers together and in a way, determining how the experience of the freshies turn out. the precamp dinner dint help much as most of the freshies were still quite fresh to each other and hence, rather cold and reserved to themselves. this made me rather worried till the actual camp where my fears were slowly dispelled as everyone started warming up to one another through the icebreakers and games. the only regret i have of the camp was probably the second night i.e. the clubbing night where the facis themselves got more drunk and wasn't there to keep the group together :(

anyway, well done, g8!

after the ice breakers.

group shots taken everywhere - first photo shows us all dirty and gross after rolling in the mud.

bottom shows the act-cute and outrageous shots required at one of the game stations.

playing at the water fountain. the unfortunate photographer was eventually sabo-ed and thrown into the fountain too :(

oooh S-M-U.

the loving shot - varun, david, cheekiang, richard, owen, joses, lewis, me, tengyi, isabelle, shiyan and sandy :)

the SMU signature jump as usual.

the freshies and the facis.

bena sharon me and juls during the clubbing night.

the inside the clubbing room where everyone got really high.
