class gathering
Saturday, June 30 @ 3:28 AM

had our first official class gathering since we all graduated from jc last fri. not considering the pathetic attendance of 6 out of a class of 20, it went quite well, catching up with the class people and teachers whom you've never seen since school ended. mrhoe is still mrhoe; cindylow is animated and gossipy like before; thong is still funny as ever; aubrey lost more weight; cheryl looks her part as an artiste.

cindylow and mrhoe.

group shot.

thong and fio with funky retro glasses!

us at menotti :)

many random deep thoughts on my mind which are too disorganized to be blogged about now.

till next time.

great night out with the bgs people last fri! it was actually quite a funny combination of people cos most of us rarely hang out together for various reasons but i'm really glad that we were able to come together and simply have fun :)

photos!
(ping, you shd really thank me for not posting up your rare unglam photos!)

maybe it's time for a change.

reminiscence
Friday, June 22 @ 4:27 PM

met up with the girls yesterday, with carol joining us back from uk! a simple dinner gathering at ecp with great company :)

theme of the day by fionne - reminiscent of the good old vj days though we hardly hung out at ecp then actually :\

our favourite hawker delights!

in case you were wondering why three of us were weirdly clad in vj pe shirt, the dress code of the day was actually anything vj-related thought up by our dearest fionne, but as you can see from the photos, we have 2 lousy people who turned up otherwise!

a surprise visitor while we were strolling back.

i enjoy such simple gatherings - feasting on a table full of delicious local hawker food while having meaningful conversations, so says carol - our meaningful-conversation facilitator, who's finally back to reinstate her role, although the topic never fail to revolve around guys (yeah we all know how good vincent is :), or simply gossiping about anyone and anything.
i enjoy the slow after-meal walks by the beach, where you feel the sea breeze in your face and the galaxy of stars above your head, and have heart-to-heart talk with a few close friends.

somehow, simple as it sounds, it doesn't always come easy.

cous cous
Wednesday, June 20 @ 3:25 PM

juls came to find me for lunch today :) along with her new recipe - meatballs cous cous (correct me if i'm wrong!) - a mediterranean rice dish with meatballs. i thought it looked like an overly generous heap of parmesan when i first saw it lol! too bad for ping who missed the chance to try juls' cooking yet again!

then we headed over for the famous peanut ice kachang! this must have been the nth number of time i've eaten it during my short time here but yums! perfect end to a good meal!

introducing my fellow temp at work - amily! i'm glad to have her to gossip/slack/lunch/whatever with me!
:)

happy father's day!
Monday, June 18 @ 5:04 PM

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY!
i heard on the radio the other day that surveys showed that most fathers do not like their presents. that set me thinking cos i rarely even buy presents for my father. it's funny how mothers and fathers tend to receive different treatment from their children. mothers, who usually play the bad part nagging, scolding and screaming at the children, are the ones closer to them and receive actual tangible reciprocation while fathers, the breadwinners of the family handing out allowances every month, are often neglected. this year, as part of my becoming-a-filial-daughter resolution, i actually shopped and bought a father's day present along with my sisters! nothing big but i guess it was good enough to make him happy and let him know that we care, even though he insisted we shdnt have wasted money on such stuff. that's just typical of parents ya?

Saturday, June 16 @ 3:30 AM

i seem to be busy with a million things; 24 hours really seem too short for a day. i guess that's pretty much cos i'm working and working takes up almost half the day and drains you of your energy even though you nv do anything much. and after you exclude the barely sufficient sleeping hours, you realize the scarce number of hours you're left with each day for other stuff, which revolves primarily around bondue camp, nitebike, gym, dinners and shopping. and yes, family (again) seems to be the at the end of the priority list, perhaps because you know that you'll go home eventually at the end of the day and still do spend a considerable number of your precious hours there (although the time's mostly spent sleeping in bed!) i'm trying hard not to neglect my family and i feel quite guilty about spending most of my time out cos i feel that they've been really accomodating towards me these days and i dont really want to misplace that trust. speaking of which, i finally dropped the bomb on my mother about the thailand trip after much subtle hinting here and there and she relented despite all her misgivings! yay so you see why i wanna be a good girl and try to spend more time at home yeah?

despite being so busy, i'm proud to say that i'm actually enjoying life now like i did the period before university. somehow, working and being financially independent bestows upon one the freedom of an adult and i quite like this feeling :) which is why i'm actually looking forward to my career after graduation! plus, i feel that i'm leading a rather fulfilling life, involving myself in various school and social activities. also, i've sorted out my thoughts about certain matters; the old whatever la! hui is back lol. i'm not going to bother myself with things/people which/who are not worth my concern or are well beyond my control. what will be will be; since you cant please everyone, why not just heck it and please yourself! selfish mentality but whatever!

anyway work's been good so far :) the people in the company are nice and funny. no more complaints about the lackof lunch buddy! i'm enjoying the good food around my area, thanks to another addition to the temp staff (previously standing at 1) in the company who happens to be my age but studying in nus! lunch partners are still welcome :) i'll treat you to my favourite after-meal desserts - peanut ice kachang and cheese tarts!
